        Meet Joseph, a motivated Tanzanian teacher with solid ICT experience and a growing desire to move from simply using digital tools to actively creating his own teaching resources. He can confidently navigate a computer and smartphone, use applications, browse the web, and manage files, but now he wants to take the next step—designing both simple and multimedia learning materials that truly fit his students’ context. Joseph is especially excited about the possibilities of Open Educational Resources (OER) and AI tools, which he sees as powerful sources of raw materials and creative support for producing relevant, localised, and innovative classroom content. With his curiosity and commitment to improving learning, he is ready for a professional development journey that helps him become a skilled digital creator who enriches Tanzanian classrooms with high-quality resources.

        This intermediate track consists of the following ICT CSTT Course units of study:

      • Unit 0: ICT CSTT Course Orientation رابط الكتروني

        We are thrilled to have you join this training program, designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to navigate the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) effectively and fully engage with the Tanzania ICTs Competence Standard for Teachers (2025).

        During this orientation, you will:

        • Understand the training objectives, prerequisites, and expectations.
        • Create and access your Moodle account seamlessly.
        • Navigate the Moodle LMS confidently to access learning materials and activities.
        • Learn about portfolio-based assessment methods.
        • Understand plagiarism policies and maintain academic integrity.
        • Access the technical and academic support services available to you.

      • Unit 6: Open Educational Resources (OER) رابط الكتروني

        Open Educational Resources (OER) give you free, high-quality materials that you can use, adapt, and share to strengthen teaching and learning. For Tanzanian classrooms, OER help you access curriculum-aligned content without cost, refresh lessons with locally relevant examples, and collaborate with colleagues by remixing and improving materials for your learners.

      • Unit 8: Authoring digital resources رابط الكتروني

        This unit equips secondary school teachers with practical skills to design, develop, and deliver structured digital learning resources. Through five focused lessons, participants will explore how to use multimedia, simulations, presentation tools, and digital authoring platforms to enhance lesson delivery and curriculum development.

        Teachers will gain hands-on experience with tools such as Microsoft PowerPoint, Moodle, Google Sites, and H5P, learning how to create interactive lessons, structured courses, and curriculum-aligned materials that are accessible across devices and adaptable to various teaching contexts. This unit supports the integration of ICT in education and empowers teachers to become confident digital resource authors.

      • Unit 10: Use AI in Education رابط الكتروني

        This unit introduces teachers to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies, highlighting their potential to transform teaching, learning, and assessment in secondary schools. Teachers will explore practical applications, hands-on practice of AI in the classroom, including personalized learning, automated assessments, classroom management, adaptive learning platforms, and AI digital content creation tools. Emerging technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Robotics, and the Gamification will also be examined for their potential to enhance learner engagement and improve educational outcomes.

      • Unit 11: Create multimedia resources رابط الكتروني

        This unit focuses on helping teachers develop multimedia resources that enhance teaching and learning. You will explore the basics of multimedia and simulations, and learn how to design simple resources that support classroom instruction. Practical skills include using digital authoring tools to create lessons and programmes, as well as producing videos, graphics, and 3D models. By the end, you will be equipped to create engaging digital materials that make learning more interactive and effective.
