What is an eMail?
In the past decade, e-mail has become
one of the most commonly used ways to communicate with other people. Over 200
billion emails are sent everyday. Many people have more than one e-mail account
– they might have one for business communication with colleagues and customers
and one for personal communication with their friends and family.
Take a look at the video below for a basic introduction to how emails work:
To summarise:
A sender (person) uses an e-mail account (programme) to write a message, which contains the e-mail address/es of the person or people that they want to send the message to. The message is then sent to the recipient’s e-mail account immediately, where they can open and view it as soon as they log in to their account.
