Internet Safety
As we have seen, the internet is an amazing tool that can be used in and out of the classroom. However, there are also negative aspects of the internet. Web safety, or online safety or Internet Safety, is the knowledge of maximizing the user's personal safety and security risks to private information and property associated with using the internet, and the self-protection from computer crime in general. As the number of internet users continues to grow worldwide, internets, governments and organizations have expressed concerns about the safety of Internet users, including children. Safer Internet Day is celebrated worldwide in February to raise awareness about internet safety (Wikipedia).

As we encourage our students to use the Internet as a tool for learning, we also need to put in place structures to protect them from the negative aspects that exist. A school policy on Internet safety is a great way to ensure that all staff and students follow safe procedures when using the internet.
