Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) is one of the most popular LMS used globally for teaching and learning. It is open-source software, which means it is freely available for institutions to install, customize, and use for their training and academic purposes.
In Tanzania, most higher learning institutions use Moodle to support distance and blended learning — enabling learners to access study materials, participate in online discussions, submit assignments, and track their learning progress anywhere and anytime.
This lesson introduces participants to the portfolio-based assessment approach used in the Tanzania ICT CFT course. It explains how portfolios serve as a reflective and practical tool to demonstrate competencies, showcase progress, and provide evidence of learning. Participants will gain a clear understanding of submission requirements, grading expectations, and the feedback process.
This topic introduces participants to the concepts of plagiarism and academic integrity, emphasizing the importance of originality and ethical scholarship in professional practice. It provides clear guidance on institutional policies, consequences of academic misconduct, and practical strategies to maintain integrity in all submitted work.
This lesson introduces participants to the key digital tools that complement Moodle and enhance the learning experience. It also provides guidance on how to access technical and academic support, ensuring participants can navigate the course confidently and receive timely assistance whenever needed.
This topic provides a practical, interactive session where participants receive guidance on resolving common technical issues and gain hands-on experience with the TIE LMS. It also creates a collaborative environment for participants to complete Module 1 activities effectively.
