Assignment — Translating Multiple National Policies into a Classroom Action Pathway

Purpose
This assignment will help you synthesise key national education policy documents and translate them into a realistic, phased strategy for improving your own classroom practice.

Documents to use
You must draw from ALL of the following:

  • Education and Training Policy (2023 Edition)
  • National Digital Education Strategy (2025/2030)
  • National ICT Policy (2016)
  • National Guidelines for AI in Education
  • (Optional) National Digital Education Guidelines for Schools & Teacher Colleges

Task Requirements

Prepare a written document (Word or PDF) in which you:

A. Policy Synthesis (Summary Table or Narrative)

Extract at least 5 clear expectations from the above policy documents that relate to classroom teaching and learning.
For each, briefly note:

  • What the policy expects teachers to do
  • Which document it comes from

B. Your Classroom Action Plan

Reflect on your own context (subject, level, school realities) and develop a three-phase implementation plan:

Time frame What you can realistically implement Example of evidence / activity
Short-term (0–6 months) Small changes you can start now with current resources e.g. using PowerPoint, digital revisions, simple simulations
Medium-term (6–18 months) Practices that require some preparation or support e.g. using LMS, peer-assessment tools, blended lessons
Long-term (18+ months) Transformational or resource-dependent changes e.g. AI-supported assessment, regular digital CPR, fully ICT-enhanced units

C. Professional Development Needs

Describe what training or support you would need to reach the long-term state — e.g.:

  • Digital pedagogy / CBC with ICT
  • Ethical use of AI in schools
  • Digital assessment tools
  • Multimedia authoring
  • Using LMS or MOOCs for CPD

D. Final Reflection (≈ 5–6 sentences)

Write a short reflection explaining: “Where am I now — and where will I be in 3 years if I act on these policies faithfully?”

Submission format

  • Upload 1 document (Word or PDF)
  • File naming convention: PolicyToPractice_<YourName>.docx/pdf

Assessment criteria (transparent)

Your work will be judged on:

  1. Accuracy — did you extract correct policy intentions?
  2. Feasibility — is your action plan realistic for Tanzania’s context?
  3. Alignment — can we see a clear link between policy and your classroom practices?
  4. Professional vision — do you show growth beyond the short-term of training?
